The time allotted to us for learning is an invaluable capital , an investment with the highest rate of return, so it is important what you want to learn and how to achieve it. The working Bulgarians who will remain on the shoulders of the state will have to be really well prepared theoretically and practically to deal with the challenges. Moreover, they will measure their results within the framework of a knowledge-oriented European Union.
To become good at what you dream of, you have to study with the best. If you want not only a diploma, but also OPPORTUNITIES for a successful professional career and development, we can agree: ambition – from you, from us – prestige: the best academic traditions, qualifications. theoretical and practical experience in engineering, economic, artistic and applied sciences. But…. be careful what you wish for!
TU-Sofia is the first and the largest one, which has helped to create most of the technical colleges in Bulgaria, with the highest accreditation rating of all HEIs in Bulgaria, which sets educational standards and introduces national priorities for the development of education and science.
The university is a leader in the fields of nanotechnology, virtual engineering, energy efficiency, renewable energy engineering ecology and engineering design, in the use of best practices, such as philosophy and a fundamental principle in engineering. For this reason, our long-standing partnership in training and research with all the leading high-tech companies in Bulgaria is logical. Annually over 70 Bulgarian and international companies and organizations participate in the Career Days. They are looking for specialists, trainees or established specialists for our development and production. To this end, they offer a large selection of programs for the promotion of young talents, specialized courses, scholarships and awards. TU graduates have a good salary and a successful career. It is no accident that for more than a decade,
The first foreign language teaching faculties and dual degree courses with universities in Germany, England, France and the entire Francophone community were first created at our university, thanks to the undeniable potential and expertise of the academic staff and the modern facilities.
We are a partner of the German Academic Exchange Service for Germany’s largest international educational project – the Faculty of German Engineering Training and Industrial Management. The university is the organizer and host of many reputable world and European forums – an opportunity for immediate meetings and contacts with scientists from all over the world.
Teaching teams participate in developing national strategies for the development of education, science and industry. They are also at the heart of the project and construction of Sofia Tech Park, which will provide a platform for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of information technology. It will provide training and provide opportunities for the development of joint technology projects. By joining forces of specialists in several fields – mechanics, electronics, robotics, control systems, etc. we are working on the largest project in the country by the Ministry of Education and Science “University research complex for innovation and knowledge transfer in the field of micro / nanotechnology and materials, energy efficiency and virtual engineering” worth BGN 20 million. The project is conducting research in three areas – Virtual Engineering, Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) and Mechanical Energy Recovery Systems. In this way, we created the conditions for rapid development of innovative processes, product systems – aimed both at more basic research and at supporting enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, sharing resources and know-how with university specialists and partner companies.
The appropriate conditions created motivate many students, PhD students and young scientists to work. Similar are the opportunities of the projects under the Energy Efficiency and Green Economy scheme, in telecommunications, computer engineering, electronics and automation, mechatronics, electricity, etc., where the most current problems affecting the development of social development policies are addressed.
Thanks to numerous won research and educational projects, the University has equipment for training and research at a global level, unique not only for the country but also for Central and Eastern Europe: High-performance computer systems with supercomputer power, Virtual Reality Laboratory, Innovative Laboratory , A rapid 3D prototyping lab, ateliers and halls where prototypes of products and services are developed that can subsequently be tested and grooved , Center for Energy Analysis, Center for Microclimate, Energy and Environment Research, Center for Excellence in Technology, Development and Technology Transfer, the most up-to-date Center for Robotics and Automation in Bulgaria and many others. and others
We are the only university in the country admitted to the HP International Institute of Technology. The only Bulgarian virtual engineering laboratory at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is at TU – Sofia. The only vehicle design studio built with the immediate assistance of the Mercedes Corporate and Innovative Design department is with us. Patents or end-products, with rapid implementation capabilities, attend major international exhibitions from Germany to China and Japan.
The initiatives and challenges facing our students to achieve their individual goals are immense. The University is the headquarters of numerous international student organizations offering training and initiatives in a business-friendly environment.
With the help of their professors for the last 5 years, the university student teams have been winners of national competitions in mathematics, theoretical electrical engineering, international competitions, competitions organized by various institutions and companies – world leaders in their production – Shell Ecomarathon, Imagine Cup. Under a design project called “Car Made in Bulgaria”, a student team in the Engineering Design major, assisted by Daimler-Chrysler, Brabus and some Bulgarian companies, created a prototype of a small city car in three modifications. Increasingly, students become involved in interdisciplinary teams for different challenges.
The Power of Engineering Knowledge is the first in the country and the only annual competition for student development of projects in the fields of engineering and applied sciences, organized by the University.
